Position Overview
The Silver Linings Foundation is looking for a Part-Time (approx. 30 hours/week), contract Fund Development Specialist who will be responsible for leading and executing a comprehensive, donor-centered fundraising and stewardship strategy. Reporting to the Executive Director and working closely with the Impact & Systems Manager and Communications team, this role will strengthen donor relationships, grow sustainable revenue streams, and build systems that enhance acquisition, retention, and long-term engagement.
This position combines relationship management, strategic fundraising planning, campaign execution, donor communications, and CRM oversight to support the organization’s strategic plan.
Key Responsibilities
Donor Stewardship (30%)
Research and develop detailed donor and prospect profiles/briefs to support strategic engagement and donor visits.
Coordinate and assist the Executive Director with key donor meetings and stewardship activities.
Lead and grow stewardship strategies for current and prospective donors and funders.
Contribute donor and funder perspectives and content to the annual impact report.
Develop and deliver customized stewardship communications and impact reports for foundations and grant funders, ensuring compliance, transparency, and ongoing engagement.
Collaborate with the Communications team to build and execute a fundraising and communications calendar (social media, newsletters, website) aligned with the donor stewardship matrix to engage and recognize donors and partners.
Fundraising Strategy & Execution (50%)
Collaborate with the Executive Director and Impact & Systems Manager to develop and implement an annual fundraising plan aligned with the strategic plan.
Build, manage, and steward a qualified portfolio of donors with capacity to give $5,000+, creating tailored cultivation and solicitation strategies to grow revenue and deepen engagement.
Develop and expand a sustainable individual donor pipeline across all giving levels, strengthening donor acquisition, retention, and upgrade opportunities to increase lifetime value.
Lead the design and growth of a monthly giving program by integrating automated digital systems with meaningful donor engagement.
Identify and steward third-party fundraising opportunities and partnerships.
Coordinate with the Executive Director and program leads to align funding strategies with programmatic and operational needs.
Collaborate on the development of a compelling, donor-centered case for support.
Build strong relationships with donors, key prospects, and community stakeholders through active networking and community presence.
Provide monthly reporting to the Executive Director on donor analytics and performance against annual fundraising goals, including new, retained, and renewed donors.
Lead the design and fundraising strategy, including metrics for annual fundraising campaigns – World Eating Disorder Action Day June 2nd, Giving Tuesday and end of year campaign
Support the development and monitoring of the annual fundraising budget, ensuring realistic revenue projections aligned with growth objectives.
Systems & Digital Engagement
Keela CRM (10%)
Maintain accurate donor records and engagement tracking within Keela.
Use data analytics to evaluate fundraising performance, strengthen retention and renewal strategies, and drive new donor acquisition.
Mailchimp (5%)
Participate in the development and maintenance of audience segmentation, tagging, and list strategy.
Import and manage new donor and participant records.
Develop and write automated email sequences designed to nurture leads and convert them into action (e.g., email sign-up, course registration, waitlist participation).
Integrate email sequences with existing marketing tools to ensure seamless automation.
Trend Monitoring & Revenue Growth (5%)
Stay current on funding opportunities, trends, and best practices in fundraising, grants, program funding, operational funding, and donor stewardship.
Identify and recommend opportunities to increase organizational revenue and strengthen sustainability.
Qualifications
3+ years of proven experience in fund development, donor stewardship, and relationship-based fundraising.
Experience in non-profit or community-based organization.
Demonstrated success managing donor portfolios and cultivating major gifts ($5,000+).
Experience developing and executing annual fundraising plans and campaigns.
Strong understanding of donor lifecycle management, acquisition, retention, and upgrade strategies.
Experience working with CRM systems (Keela preferred) and email marketing platforms (Mailchimp preferred).
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret donor data and translate insights into strategy.
Excellent written communication skills, including experience developing donor reports, cases for support, and impact communications.
Strong interpersonal and networking skills with the ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholders.
Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable working in a collaborative, part-time contract environment.
Member of AFP
Salary range starting at $46.00/hour • Hybrid work available
