Family Focused Support offers a range of specialized programs designed to meet the distinct needs of individuals impacted by eating disorders in different ways—whether as teens experiencing the illness firsthand, parents navigating daily challenges, or loved ones seeking to better understand and support recovery.

By offering dedicated spaces for each audience, these programs provide more relevant support, deeper understanding, and practical strategies for coping, communicating, and healing—whether you're part of a biological family or a chosen one.

Therapist Parent: Learning Series

Supporting a loved one with an eating disorder

Facilitator: Daphne Wornovitzky (MSW, RSW)

These 1.5 hour sessions will build your foundational knowledge of eating disorders, effective treatment and sustainable recovery. You'll gain a deeper understanding of eating disorders, explore practical ways to support your loved one, and care for your own emotional well-being in the process. Whether you're feeling helpless, burnt out, or just looking for connection—this workshop is here for you.

PLEASE NOTE:
This is a learning series focused on supporting a loved one with an eating disorder. Parents are required to register for each session separately. 


Registered Dietician Parent Group

Nutrition Fundamentals for Recovery for Parents

Facilitator: Britney Lentz (Registered Dietitian)

This four-week virtual group helps parents and caregivers develop practical nutrition-related skills to support a loved one with an eating disorder. We’ll explore neutral, non–diet culture ways of talking about food and bodies, effective meal support at home, and emotion-coaching strategies for tough mealtime moments.


Monthly Parent Q&A Sessions

Beyond the Eating Disorder

Open to: AB Only

This drop-in session is for parents and caregivers of a child with an eating disorder, or for parents who suspect their child may have an eating disorder. It is an open space to ask general questions about eating disorders, learn how to support your child, and talk about caring for yourself through the process.

A facilitator will be available for one hour, and you are welcome to join or leave at any point during that time — no need to attend the full session or arrive at the start.

Please note: this is not a therapy session. Questions about your child's specific medical status or treatment plan should be directed to their treatment team.
