EXPRESSIVE & SOMATIC APPROACHES

Practices like art-making, gentle movement, and yoga can help you reconnect with your body in safe, non-judgmental ways, supporting nervous system regulation, emotional expression, and trust in our bodies.

In a supportive group setting, you’ll explore prompts that encourage reflection, engage in creative or movement-based practices, and connect with others through shared experience.

These methods complement talk-based therapy by offering alternative ways to process emotions, reduce shame, and build a more compassionate relationship with your body. No artistic or movement experience needed.

Facilitator: Chari Tomczak (Art Therapist)

Date: Thursdays, Sept 10 - Oct 1

A deeply symbolic group where participants bring in old, worn, or personally meaningful garments to physically deconstruct, mend, or redesign them. Capacity: 11

A supportive, compassionate environment that uses low-pressure, process-oriented art making to change your relationship with anxiety. Instead of fighting nervous energy, this group teaches you how to gently accept it and channel it into a creative outlet, taking the power away from fear and turning it into creative courage

Eco-Art Therapy Group 3: In Person

Facilitator: Chari Tomczak (Art Therapist)

Date: Thursdays, Nov 5 - Nov 26
Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm
Location: The Hub
Capacity: 11

This group offers a grounding, somatic journey using basic textile arts to help you reconnect with your physical self. By focusing on the rhythmic, tactile nature of stitching, participants will practice mindful presence, slow down nervous system activation, and cultivate a deeper sense of being rather than doing.
