Self-Acceptance & Body Image
Eating disorders often distort self-perception, impacting self-worth and body image. Even as behaviours improve, emotional effects can linger. Our Body Image & Self-Acceptance programs aim to break these patterns and build a more compassionate relationship with yourself.
SELF-ACCEPTANCE & BODY IMAGE
In our Body Image programs, we address the emotional roots of body image struggles, with guided support and evidence-based tools,—reducing shame, encouraging self-acceptance, and shifting from control to care. These programs support healing at any stage.
Build deeper self-understanding through reflection and shared experience in our Self Acceptance programs. Peer mentors share real recovery journeys—offering hope, resilience, and reminders that healing is powerful, personal, and ongoing.

Facilitator: Jessica Sauerwein (MSW, RSW)
Date: Tuesdays, Sept 15 - Oct 6
Time: 6:30pm–8pm

Capacity: 12
PLEASE NOTE:
This is a learning series with a different theme each week. You are required to register for each session separately.
Sept 15: Identity, Values, and Sense of Self
This session will focus on exploring identity beyond the eating disorder. You will reflect on their values, personality, strengths, and the parts of yourself that may feel disconnected, overlooked, or difficult to access.
Sept 22: Hobbies, Enjoyment, and Meaningful Experiences
Eating disorders can narrow life and make it harder to engage with interests, creativity, fun, or curiosity. This session will explore activities, passions, and experiences that bring meaning, enjoyment, comfort, or connection. You will reflect on past interests, current curiosities, and small ways to create more space for joy and fulfillment in everyday life.
Sept 29: Connection with Others and Showing Up as Yourself
This session will focus on relationships and connection, including how eating disorders can impact the way people relate to themselves and others. You will reflect on supportive relationships, boundaries, authenticity, vulnerability, and what helps you feel seen, understood, and connected. The group will also explore the importance of community and belonging throughout recovery.
Oct 6: Looking Forward, Growth, and Personal Direction
This session will focus on exploring hopes, goals, and the kind of life you want to move toward alongside recovery. Rather than focusing on “perfect recovery,” this session will invite reflection on purpose, direction, balance, and what you want more of in your life. Together, we will explore how reconnecting with identity and meaningful parts of life can support recovery and ongoing growth over time.
